Countertop Prices in Calgary
What granite, quartz and marble actually cost installed in Calgary, per square foot and per kitchen, from the shop that cuts them. Ranges, not a sales pitch: the exact number comes from a free template of your kitchen!
Per square foot, installed
Granite vs quartz vs marble prices in Calgary
Installed means installed: slab, on-site template, fabrication, a standard edge, sink and cooktop cut-outs, delivery, installation and sealing on natural stone. Not “from $39 a foot” for a slab you still have to get cut.
| Material | Installed, per sq ft | Typical kitchen (35–60 sq ft) | 20 linear feet (≈ 43 sq ft) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Granite → | $55–$110 per sq ft | $1,900–$6,600 | $2,300–$4,700 |

Ranges checked October 2026. Low end: a level-1 colour, simple layout, eased edge. High end: a premium or exotic slab with upgrades. Every real quote is measured on site and itemised.
Granite: what sets the price
Low end. Level-1 colours: Absolute Black, Black Pearl, Kashmir White, Baltic Brown, the speckled greys.
High end. Exotics: Blue Bahia, Patagonia, Red Dragon, Super White Arabescato, stone that sells by the slab.
Sealed at install; resealed every 1–3 years (a $20 bottle, ten minutes).
Quartz: what sets the price
Low end. Plain whites, greys and solids from Irah, NTP, Vicostone, TCE.
High end. Marble-look Calacattas and Statuarios from Caesarstone and Silestone.
Never sealed. The brand moves the price as much as the colour.
Marble: what sets the price
Low end. Carrara-type whites, Crema Marfil, Emperador.
High end. Calacatta Gold, the Arabescatos, Calacatta Vagli.
Sealed at install; yearly after. Vanities often come out of a remnant.

What moves the number
Six things that change a countertop quote
Colour group
The biggest lever by far. Within one material the top colour can cost twice the bottom one. Fall in love with a level-1 colour and the rest of the quote relaxes.
Square footage
Measured on the template, not estimated from the slab. A straight 10-foot run uses stone efficiently; an L-shape with an island may need a second slab.
Edge profile
Eased and bevel are standard. Ogee, bullnose and a mitred 2-inch edge are upgrades; a waterfall end adds two more polished faces.
Cut-outs
Sink and cooktop cut-outs are included. Extra sinks, a second faucet set or a soap dispenser are a few dollars each.
Backsplash
A 4-inch splash from the same slab is a small line. A full-height stone backsplash behind the range is a bigger one, and the thing people compliment most.
Removal & support
Taking out the old top, especially glued-down granite, is quoted separately. Seating overhangs beyond the stone’s limit need brackets.
Cheap countertops, done right
How to get the price down without getting a worse countertop
Shop the level-1 colours first. A black granite or a plain white quartz is the same stone, cut by the same people, at the bottom of the range. The exotic slab is the only thing that costs double.
Ask for remnants on small jobs. A vanity, a laundry room, a bar top: the offcut from someone else’s island is often exactly the size you need.
Keep the layout simple. Fewer seams, a standard edge, a 4-inch splash instead of full-height. Add the waterfall end when the budget allows; the stone will still be there.
Compare installed quotes, not slab prices. A low per-foot number that leaves out the template, the cut-outs, the install or the sealing isn’t a lower price. Ours includes all of it. Bring the other quotes. Our reviews say we beat them more often than not.
Price questions, answered
Frequently Asked Questions
The cost questions Google shows on every Calgary countertop search, answered with our numbers.
How much do granite countertops cost in Calgary?
Most granite we install in Calgary comes in at $55–$110 per sq ft installed, so a typical 35–60 sq ft kitchen lands around $1,900–$6,600. Colour drives the price more than anything: a level-1 black or speckled grey sits at the low end, an exotic like Blue Bahia or Patagonia at the top.
Every quote is measured on site. See countertop prices in Calgary for what moves the number.
How much would 20 feet of granite countertop cost?
Twenty linear feet at the standard 25½-inch depth is about 43 square feet, which works out to roughly $2,300–$4,700 installed depending on the colour group and edge profile. In quartz the same run is about $3,000–$5,500. A sink and a cooktop cut-out put you in the upper half of the range.
How much is one square foot of granite?
$55–$110 per sq ft installed in Calgary. That figure includes the slab, templating, fabrication, a standard edge, delivery and installation, not just the stone. Quartz is $70–$130 per sq ft and marble $80–$150 per sq ft on the same basis.
Which is cheapest: granite, quartz or marble?
Granite at the entry level, then quartz, then marble. In the middle of each range the three overlap, and an exotic granite costs more than most quartz. The cheapest countertop is the level-1 colour you still love in ten years.
What is included in the quote?
Everything to a finished countertop: the on-site template, the stone, fabrication, a standard polished edge, sink and cooktop cut-outs, delivery, installation, and sealing on natural stone. Removal of the old top, a new undermount sink, backsplashes and premium edges are quoted as separate lines so you can see them.
What makes a countertop quote go up?
Colour group first, then square footage, then the extras: a waterfall end (two more polished faces), a full-height backsplash, a fancy edge, extra cut-outs, removal of the old top, and long overhangs that need support.
Do you beat other quotes?
Bring them. Our Google reviews mention beating big-box and other shops’ pricing more often than we’d dare to claim ourselves. And the quote is for the same stone, measured on site, installed by our own crew.
