Marble Countertops in Calgary
Over 50 natural marbles (Carrara, Calacatta Gold, Emperador, the Arabescatos), fabricated in our NE Calgary shop and installed by our own crew. Timeless on a vanity, a statement on an island, and we’ll tell you honestly where it belongs, and where it doesn’t!

What marble is
Choose Timeless Elegance with Our Marble Countertops in Calgary!
Marble is a metamorphic rock: limestone or dolomite recrystallised under heat and pressure, coloured by whatever minerals were in the way. That’s where the veining comes from, and why no two slabs match.
It’s a natural, soft stone. It needs sealing at least once a year to resist staining, and it etches: acids like lemon juice, wine and vinegar dull the polish where they sit. On a bathroom vanity or a baking island that’s a non-issue. On a busy family cooking surface, it means the counter will show its history. Some owners love that, and some should choose marble-look quartz instead. We’ll tell you which you are.
Marble stays naturally cool to the touch, takes a hot pan better than quartz, and gives a room a glow that engineered stone has never quite managed.

Where marble belongs
Where marble shines in a Calgary home
Bathroom vanities
The classic use, and the safest. Little heat, few acids, mostly admiration. Carrara and Calacatta on a vanity never look dated.
Islands & baking stations
Marble stays cool, which is why pastry chefs want it. An island in marble with quartz on the working perimeter is a combination we do often.
Fireplace surrounds
Marble takes the heat of a hearth and makes the room. A surround and an island cut from the same slab is a favourite.
Kitchens, for the right owner
If you want a stone that ages like a favourite cutting board (patina, the odd ring), marble is yours. If that sentence worried you, marble-look quartz has you covered!
Marble selection
Pick from over 50 marbles, delivered and installed anywhere in Calgary
Two suppliers, two tabs. The whites (Bianco Carrara, Calacatta, Milky White, Mont Blanc) for vanities and islands; the browns and golds (Emperador, Crema Marfil, Sahara Gold) for warmth; the dramatic ones (Arabescato Rosso, Palisandra, Verde Calacatta) for the fireplace that owns the room.

Living with marble
The two-minute care routine
- Seal once a year; twice on a kitchen counter.
- Wipe lemon, wine, vinegar and tomato within minutes.
- Trivets for hot pans, boards for knives.
- pH-neutral cleaner only: never vinegar, never bleach.
- Honed finish hides etching best; polished shows the depth of the stone.
What marble costs in Calgary
$80–$150 per sq ft installed
A full kitchen lands around $2,800–$9,000 installed; a vanity top is a few hundred dollars and often comes out of a remnant. Carrara-type whites are the entry point, Calacatta Gold and the Arabescatos the top. Sealing is included on every natural-stone install.
Marble questions, answered
Frequently Asked Questions
Etching, sealing, vanities and the kitchen question, answered the way we answer them in the showroom.
Is marble a good idea for a Calgary kitchen?
For the right kitchen, yes. Marble is softer than granite and etches with acids like lemon, wine and vinegar, so a busy family cooking surface will show its history. Where it shines: islands, baking stations (it stays cool), bathrooms, fireplace surrounds, and kitchens whose owners want a stone that ages like a favourite cutting board rather than one that never changes.
We’ll tell you honestly which yours is. If you want the look without the care, see our marble-look quartz.
How much do marble countertops cost in Calgary?
$80–$150 per sq ft installed, so $2,800–$9,000 for a typical kitchen and a few hundred dollars for a vanity top. Carrara-type whites are the entry point; Calacatta Gold and the Arabescatos are the top. See countertop prices in Calgary.
Will my marble countertop really change over time?
Yes. Marble develops a patina, a softening of the polish and the odd faint mark, that tells your home’s story. Most people who choose marble choose it for exactly that; if the idea bothers you, a honed finish hides it best, and quartz hides it entirely.
Can etching be removed from marble?
Light etching polishes out; we can do it in place on a polished top, and a honed top can often be refreshed with a marble polishing compound. Deep etches and chips are repaired rather than removed. We show every marble client the two-minute care routine that prevents most of it.
How often does marble need sealing?
At least once a year, and every six months on a kitchen counter that sees acids and oils. Sealing slows staining; it doesn’t stop etching, which is a reaction with the stone itself. That’s what the care routine is for.
Marble or quartz for a bathroom vanity?
For a powder room or ensuite, marble is a low-risk luxury: little heat, few acids, mostly admiration. For a kids’ bathroom with toothpaste, cosmetics and hair products, quartz. Most Calgary vanities we do are marble-look quartz for that reason; the ensuites are where the real marble goes.
